Description

An original antique chromolithographic print of different fossils by G.H. Von Schubert, published 1884 in a German language publication ‘Naturgeschichte Geologie Mineralreich Paläontologie’ (Natural history of the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdom.).

This print includes drawings of skeletons of the Irish elk, Woolly Mammoth, Woolly Rhinoceros and the Giant Ground Sloth. The skulls of an Auroch and a Cave Bear and fossils of three different snail species.

Gotthilf Heinrich von Schubert was a German physician and naturalist who completed books on natural history and fringe sciences including the book ‘Symbolism of Dreams’ which is said to have inspired Sigmund Freud.
