An original antique stone lithograph in hand colour, drawn and engraved by John Powell (1780-1834). Printed by Charles Joseph Hullmandel (1789-1850). A few houses can be seen in the distance through the trees and livestock in the foreground. An important and rare pair showing Clapham Common. See also APVI0062: ‘View from the S.E. Corner of Clapham Common.’

C. J. Hullmandel was one of the first practicing lithographers in England. He had a major influence on the development of lithography over the 20 years in which he was active.
